Welcome
to the site of SMART ZANOLENA ("RIO"), the
1999 NRCHA World Championship Snaffle Bit Futurity Open Champion,
$100,000 Winner!
Once in a lifetime a
horse comes along that is truly something special! Smart Zanolena is
one of those special horses. In 1999, with Bob Avila in the saddle,
Smart Zanolena (“Rio”) captured the NRCHA World Championship Snaffle Bit
Futurity Open with a ride that was nothing less than spectacular. His
natural talent as a cow horse, cutter and reiner is evident as he has
continued his winning ways over the years. And now, his offspring are
showing their natural talents as well. “Rio’s” 2003 filly Days Zanolena
teamed up with rider Tucker Robinson to win the 2007 NRCHA Open &
Intermediate Championship and the
2008 National Reined
Cow Horse Association Stakes, bringing her total winnings to over
$95,000.00.
Another Smart Zanolena
filly, Smart Little Diva, has won more than $30,000 at NCHA events.
Also in the cutting arena Zanolena Day won the 2004 NWCHA Amateur Derby.
Other Smart Zanolena
sired foals who have performed well throughout the years include; Smart Olena Day who won the IRCHA Amateur SBF Championship. Smart Olena Day
also placed sixth at the 2007 NRCHA Derby. This filly has earnings in
excess of $4,500.00. Days Call My Bluff made it to the
semi-finals at the 2007 PCCHA Futurity and Days Smart Draw was ridden
to a seventh place finish in the 2006 Intermediate NRCHA Snaffle Bit
Futurity. Many other Smart Zanolena foals are currently working with
trainers throughout the United States.
Smart Zanolena is
standing the 2007 breeding season at Ward River Ranch in Kingsburg,
California.
